Read this report first >>> WHY NOUN PORTAL IS BEING SHUTDOWN
Report reaching us from some concerned students of the National Open University of Nigeria has it that some blogs and newly developed websites are posing as the school’s new student portal. However we are yet to confirm if the website in question, www.nouonline.com actually belongs to the school or not.
Over the time , we have received series of websites to login with, saying this is the new school website and all of them is discovered to be just a blog which we don’t really know the intention of the noun blog creator. Some of the reasons could be just to get attention to the blog , it could also be student Porter Hackers in which if you try to login with your details, the web will automatically save your details to their database and they will have access to your Porter, your grade, your wallet, and your details, they can from there change your details and then clam your certificate.
Pls I want to beg everyone to be very careful of the noun said websites u visit and put ur matric number and Passward. It’s very important you wait till the site is officially announced by a notable personality in the group.
On our evaluation, the contact us details firstname.lastname@example.org
carries the domain extension of the legal NOUN website .
The domain whois of the website is set to private and no much information was found on that.
The portal only accepts and apparently stores data via the registration form on the page.
As at the time of this report, the university is yet to address the website and its relationship with the institution.
BSN would recommend that NOUN students should wait for confirmation (from their school) before uploading their data on the website to avoid any form of data theft/manipulation
The NOUN websites that we all know are www.NOUN.edu.ng and www.NOU.edu.ng
