A concerned Nigerian has decided to air his opinion about the ongoing 2017 UTME registration. You should read this now.

After a critical examination of the registration processes and facts gathered from random interrogation of some candidates of 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, one can boldly say it is the WORST ever in the History of UTME registration in Nigeria.
Just like every other person here, I am duly aware of the “structured” upgrade that the new director of the JAMB, Proff. Oloyede promised. Which according to him, include getting well equipped CBT centers for the examination, eradication of sales of scratch card for pin vending, others, my area of concern which apparently is a burdening issue to parents and candidates who spend valuable parts of the day under harsh sun is the newly introduced UTME registration processes by the JAMB.
Bringing in a new way of doing things into public parastatal is totally an awesome thing. Yes! I know, and welcome that, but the current development by JAMB is a vehement affliction on the ones seeking admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Ask me how? The rate at which ICT grows this century is rapidly super-fast beyond measures and Nigeria, doubtlessly is a country with numberless tech gurus, when proff. Oloyede made up his mind to cut-out scratch card vending from the UTME registration processes, I was expecting a swift and modern registration method only to see JAMB recycling its condemned old school method but this time, in a “brutal” way.
Well, I am not interested in JAMB cutting-out some ventures from its registration procedures obviously not now, however, here is my cry! JAMB should at least, at least again, allow candidate to obtain the Pin for registration online via easily setup online payment platform, this will allow JAMB to moderate the UTME form fee, promote swift payment and registration, also alleviate the struggles these millions admission seekers face after many of them even hustle to gather the form money.
Abi what happened to Remitta? What happened to other payment processors? Shebi UNILORIN students like other tertiary institutions pay fees online, why did Professor now choose to sun-dry our youths who want to attend tertiary institution?.
Nigeria is an OCEAN of intellectuals (in all fields) try do more consultation before making decisions.
We (Nigerians) aren’t actually where you (Public decision makers) thought you left us. We use internet and watch oyinbos televisions oga boss!
Dear decision makers, always think about the people you are making “that” choice for.
Think about the impact on them, and consider both now and then!
Here, I drop my pen.
