Nigerian university, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has put a stop to the conduct of continuous assessment in the university following unethical behaviours of some lecturers in the institution.

IAUE SCRAPS CA TEST.

Worried by the unethical conducts by some lecturers, Senate has approved that students should no longer be subjected to continuous assessment. This is to reduce cases of students being forced to buy books before they can be given assignments or pay money before scores are assigned to them.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele who frowned at the practice noted that computer based test would be given to students as continuous assessment and marked over 100.

300 and 400 level students would also write a computer based examination on one compulsory course in second semester. Students are therefore encouraged to pay their school fees for them to be assigned matriculation numbers which would be active only when such payment have been made.
